“There Ain’t No Sanity Clause”: Classic Film Images Photo Quiz, Dec. 2022 Edition, Vol. 12.25
With all due deference to Chico Marx, with the approach of that most irresistible season of blind avarice, it is incumbent on that deservedly underpaid staff at CSR to explore and dash away dash away dash away all childhood visions of convincing a certain man in a red suit that they are worthy of removal from the bad list (and a daily food allowance consisting solely of asparagus gruel and stale water) and whFvincingly argue that their toils are redeemable for that as yet elusive holiday bonus instead of the traditional lump of swallowed pride. Uh…yeah, good luck with that.
In the meantime, in preparation for the inevitable month long pageant of incessant bad rap (or worse yet, Cher) versions of those traditional Christmas carols which stimulate the type of warm and fuzzy feelings which make one either crave a steaming mug of hot cocoa or reach for a tube of topical ointment, we proudly announce the arrival of this month’s episode of America’s most trusted cause of holiday malaise, the Classic Film Images Photo Quiz, brought to you, as always, by those clever folks who distribute SKITTLES, America’s favorite nutritional supplement. In this edition we say hello to the morbidly obese serial breaking and entering artist who fuels children’s imaginations with endless visions of battery operated wealth accumulation. The following twenty-five images feature Santa Claus as represented on the silver screen and your task is merely to identify each of the films from which the images are sourced. The first to do so correctly will receive the treasured CSR Culture Shock Award, limited in supply and not available in stores. Good luck.

Where’s Gene Hackman?
Since you’re on Santa’s Good list I’ll let you in on a secret: he’s there.
Dagnab it! I was thinking of that but something about that pic didn’t seem right. Shows how awful I am at these!
My eyes are not good at the moment, and definitely not up to too many similar Santas. I hope you have a great Christmas.
Best wishes, Kris Kringle.
I should have thrown in an Easter Bunny just for contrast. Much merriment for the season ahead to you, old friend. (Or would that be Old Fiend if we’re in a Herzog frame of mind?)
